Course Overview
This course will discuss the use of mesh bone grafting for vertical and horizontal bone augmentation. Custom titanium mesh has significantly improved outcomes. Custom mesh decreases the surgical time, improves the stability of the mesh and provides a prosthetic guided mesh design for ideal implant positioning. Many studies also suggest a lower rate of mesh exposure can be expected.
Course Objectives
1. Understand the biologic principles of mesh bone grafting
2. Understand the type of graft materials and adjunctive materials used for mesh grafting.
3. Discuss methods to obtain tension free flap closure to decrease the risk of mesh exposure.
