Course Overview
This presentation describes the importance of following specific parameters of 3D implant placement, tissue reconstruction (both bone and soft tissues), and proper prosthetic managment to achieve clinical success including predictability and longevity. When those parameters are neglected, esthetic and biological complications may occur. A decision tree based on the implant position, presence of not of perimplantitis, and the evaluation of the prosthetic platform, is presented to determine if the case will be solved by keeping the implant or its removal. Several clinical cases are presented to justify the decision tree.
Course Objectives
1. Understand the importance of the soft tissue quality/quantity to stabilize the per implant tissues
2. Identify the parameters to achieve success
3. Use the decision-tree to remove or keep implants when biological/esthetic complications are present
