Dr. Yassin is dual trained dentist in both Periodontics and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

He received his master’s degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2006 and his second master’s degree in Periodontics in 2017 from University of Washington in Seattle.

Since his graduation from the Dental School at the University of Aleppo/Syria in 2001, Dr. Yassin has been practicing dentistry and oral surgery in private practices, hospitals and academic institutions. Currently he is practicing periodontics and implant dentistry in Washington State, dividing his time between Seattle, Bellingham and Tacoma.

Besides his outstanding academic and clinical skills, Dr. Yassin is also committed to his passion for teaching, sharing expertise with his students and colleagues. From serving as a clinical attending in the Oral Surgery Departments at Damascus Hospitals for 5 years, to his recent position as affiliate faculty at the Periodontics Department of the University of Washington, Dr. Yassin actively lectures on esthetics and advanced implant surgery, Periodontics and Oral Surgery at national and international conferences and symposiums, in addition to extensive online courses and webinars. He is the course director of the Clinical Implantology Continuum of the Washington Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Yassin has several publications and articles in refereed and in peer-reviewed journals, he also serves as a reviewer in many academic journals: Journal of Periodontology, Clinical advances in Periodontics, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he is member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Health.

Giving back to the community is a large portion in Dr. Yassin’s career. He is known to participate in continued and ongoing volunteering events from running free dental service to uninsured patients to serving underserved areas through dental vans and medical missions.

Away from his professional life, Dr. Yassin spends the quality time with his family and enjoys hiking, camping, swimming, playing soccer, music, and photography with his wife Layla (Who is a clinical professor at the department of Oral surgery in the University of Washington) and his 7 years old son Medo.
