Dr. John Chrispens graduated from the Loma Linda School of Dentistry, and received his Certificate in Periodontics at The Eastman Dental Center. He completed postgraduate research at the University of Rochester in the field of Microbiology and Immunology in 1975 and served as a faculty member at the University of Southern California from 1975-1981. Dr. Chrispens has maintained a private periodontal practice for over 30 years in Newport Beach, CA.

He is a past president of both the California Society of Periodontists (1990) and Western Society of Periodontics (1993). He currently serves on the Medial Review Board for the Orange County Diabetic Association and on the Scientific Advisory Board of AmeriSciences. Dr. Chrispens has been using the PerioLase MVP-7 for the LANAP protocol since 2008.
